We’re currently focused on 3 grant programs to meet the needs of our local communities.

Strategic Fund

Our Strategic Fund is an invitation-only grant program that supports regional and national programs to strengthen and empower healthy communities in our hometowns. Through the Strategic Fund, we support our signature Full Futures school nutrition program, large food access initiatives, and more.

Community Impact Grants

This program expands the reach of our funding to all Campbell communities in North America and empowers our employees to help us find worthy nonprofits across our locations. Employee nomination teams recommend organizations in their communities whose work aligns with our mission to apply for grants.

COVID-19 Community Recovery Grants (CRG)

We’re partnering with nonprofits to provide critical COVID-19 relief and recovery support. These grants can be used for food and other essential supplies, infrastructure, staffing support, and innovations that help nonprofits pivot and continue their work during this unprecedented time.

Applications for these grants are now closed, but the work is ongoing.

Grantee selection process

We support organizations working to create sustainable change in our communities.

Core criteria

Our programs are invitation-only, and we use the following core criteria to evaluate potential partners. We evaluate how the organization’s work:

• Leads to sustainable behavior change.
• Leverages partnerships and additional financial resources for sustainability.
• Utilizes the skills of Campbell employees to multiply their impact.
• Is informed by local residents and community members.
• Develops multi-sector partnerships to create systemic change.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a grant, your organization must:

• Align with one or more of our focus areas:
  • Increase food access
  • Encourage healthy living
  • Nurture Campbell neighborhoods
• Operate in one of our core Campbell communities in North America. In addition to our core Campbell communities, we also provide grants for organizations near our sales offices in Cincinnati, Ohio; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Bentonville, Arkansas, and near our Latin America office communities in Puerto Rico and Mexico City, Mexico.
• Be a nonprofit organization that is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and files a Form 990 with the IRS.

We don’t provide direct grants to:

• Individuals, including scholarships, loans, and sponsorships.
• Organizations that discriminate against any person or group on the basis of race, color, ancestry, sex, gender, religion, national origin, age, actual or perceived physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, military or veteran status, marital status, status as a victim of domestic violence, or any other classification protected by law.
• Religious organizations whose principal purpose is propagating a particular religious faith, creed, or doctrine including missions, religious orders, or church building programs.*
• Political organizations and those having the primary purpose of influencing legislation or promoting a particular ideological point of view.
• Events and sponsorships, including sports-related events.

*We will consider a donation to independently run, non-sectarian, and interdenominational programs that are affiliated with religious organizations, so long as they are open to the general public and provide social services to the community-at-large on a non-discriminatory basis. This may include programs such as soup kitchens or homeless shelters that happen to be operated by a church or other religious organization.
